Why We Love Camping
Do you love camping? Detaching from our busy lives, creating memories and connecting to nature are some of the reasons why we love camping.

My husband booked our first camping trip for this coming spring and we are very much looking forward to it. We only went camping once last year, because it was a busy year preparing for our move, buying this house, and all other stuff.
So, now that we are settled in our new home, we can ease back into more camping during the spring, summer and fall.
Camping with little kids is not easy. We started camping when my eldest daughter was 3, and after that, the next child went camping as early as 4 months old. Why do we love camping?
For sure hearing the humming of birds first thing in the morning is such a gift, the cold air on our skin and the smell of campfire in a humid, clear evening is such an experience.
Preparing to camp for a family of five is not an easy feat. But why do we keep going? Why we love camping so much? I can list a few reasons.

Reasons Why We Love Camping
Camping is a Good Way to Detach from Our Daily Busy Lives. When we are at home, we are mostly in a routine of work, prepping for school, getting dinner ready, prepping for bed, and telling the kids a million things that they should do.
Camping allows us to connect in a different way. It allows us to detach from a routine of getting things done. When we are at a camp site, there are no other things to do but to be in the moment.
It Allows us to Connect to the Beauty of Nature. Perhaps the most obvious reason to love camping is being close to nature. I cannot forget that one calm night when I and my husband went down by the lake to see that the water was so calm, the moon was so bright and everything else was peaceful. That precious moment is pretty hard to forget.
Camping Allows for More Intimacy to Develop in Relationships. When we are confined in a small tent, or trailer and especially when it is raining outside, the cuddles and story-telling are plenty. It is definitely a quality time in such a little space.
We watch lots of movies, play a lot and we get to spend lots of time with the kids. While these are things that we also do at home, there is just a sense of excitement and more joy when we are out there in a beautiful space, in a little camping trailer.
Camping is a Cost-Effective Mini Vacation. When grand getaways are out of budget, camping is a nice getaway that involves lots of adventure for a fraction of the cost.
Walking around the campground is a good morning and evening activity. Plus the kids always love checking out the mini grocery stores for ice cream and random stuff!
We Create Moments that Last a Lifetime. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazed I am to hear my daughters say ” the smell reminds me of the time we camped…” or this is the exact same food we ate when me and dad went camping when I was 3..” And the latest one was ” Mom, I remember when I and my sister went for morning walks at the campsite..
Their recollection makes me smile, and what I thought were just random camping moments .. are actually memories they will remember for a lifetime.
So here are the reasons why we love camping. They are not groundbreaking or extraordinary, but they sure elevate the quality of time we spend as a family. What are your favorite camping moments? If you have not tried camping before, I hope you try if even just for once, and see what adventure awaits.
