I am all for a good-smelling home. When I enter a house, I can’t help but be fascinated by the subtle scent that lingers around. The fragrance in a home makes a lasting impression and one that makes your stay more pleasing and inviting.

In reality, my house does not always smell like a cozy hotel. With all the cooking and burnt toasts during the day, I definitely take a moment to reset the ambiance by putting on my favorite house scent, although the smell of fresh bread baking is always nice 🙂

So in this post, I am gonna take you in on a little peek at the best home fragrance products that I used over the years ( I think I might have tried a LOT of home fragrance systems) and my current favorite that I use right now.

My Favorite Home Fragrance Products

Soya Candles (mild scent, ideally 2-3 hours burning time ) One thing I love about candles is not only do they give off a subtle scent, but they also add a nice, relaxing atmosphere because of the lights they emit. This is why I think in our house, I always love to have a couple of candles even if I have other means to fragrance our home.

I prefer soya candles over wax ones. The smell is light, not overpowering, and it is definitely better for you and the environment. One downfall is that soya candles can be pricey. I keep one or two at home and use them occasionally 🙂

My favorite: Natura Soy Candles

Essential Oil Diffusers (strong scent, lasts up to 6 hours) Essential oil diffusers add a nice aesthetic to your home. They double up as a nice decor. Depending on what oil you use and how many drops, diffusers can make your home smell good pretty fast.

Essential oils are all natural which makes me feel good about using them. And if you want to delve deeper, there are numerous essential oil recipes that target specific benefits (relaxing, energizing, cold remedy etc).

So if you love aromatherapy, definitely look into essential oil diffusers. They are at a medium price point, the essential oils usually come in a variety pack and each bottle can last a long time. With 2-5 drops per session, one bottle can last a few months.

I love Carose Essential Oil Diffuser with LED colors. This one has an auto-off safety, a timer, and remote control. Brings a noticeable aroma to a room for as long as 6 hours.

Ceramic Oil Burner using fragrance oils. (strong scent, lasts for up to 2 -4 hours at a time) Ceramic oil burners use tea lights candle to warm up the mixture of fragrance oil and water in its reservoir. Although I cannot vouch for any other fragrance oils out there, which sent does not seem to last, I swear by The Body Shop Fragrance Oils. And my ultimate, ultimate favorite is the Satsuma.

I love the fruity and citrus scent whic is noticeable but not too overpowering. The downside is that the fragrance depends on how long your tealights burn. And being small, tea lights usually only lasts between 2-4 hours.

This Ceramic Oil Burner also serves as a nice decor especially when lit up. Pair this with the Satsuma oil from The Body Shop and you are all set.

Bath and Body Shop Wallflowers. (noticeable to moderate scent, lasts for more than a month when constantly plugged in) While they are not the most natural smelling scent, they do the job. And if you like something that is low maintenance, this is a good choice.

Wallflowers are plug-ins. Therefore they don’t use candles or oils that needs to be constantly replaced. However, the fragrance needs changing every so soften. One refill can last over a month. And there are so much to choose from.

Bath and Body Wall Flower Refills. My favorite is Sweet Pea.

Electric Wax Melter. (noticeable to moderate, lingering natural scent when filled with soya wax, lasts up to 8+ hours) This was referred to be by a friend because I had to ask about that sweet, noticeable scent in the background.

Electric wax melter uses melts (wax or soya) that are basically candles in dots, cubes or disc form. I love that there are endless scents to choose from. Wax melts are widely available in major groceries. But like with candles, I prefer soya melts.

Soya melts do not have overpowering scents, and they smell natural. I usually put 2-3 soya dots which come in packages of 12-21. It is good and potent for more than two weeks, making them cost-effective.

As for the longevity of scent, it is pleasantly noticeable for as long as your electric melter is on, and it lingers for a long while after you have turned it off. Needless to say, this one is my favorite! I only have one melter and it is enough to make our house smell good, even the upstairs for hours!

This is What I Use: Bobolyn Ceramic Wax Melter and Skore Soya Dots in Vanilla Cream. The smell is very lightly pleasant, a bit sweet, a bit warm. I really love it! I also have the Bed of Roses but I have not opened the package yet ( I will update this once I do).
