Stillness

All creativity requires some stillness. Your sense of inner peace depends on spending some of your life energy in silence to recharge your battery, remove tension and anxiety, reacquaint you with the joy of knowing God, and feel closer to all of humanity. Going into the quiet and listening will heal and inspire you. In silence, you make your personal and conscious contact with God.Dr. Wayne Dyer

I find that during the most difficult times of my life, it is my desire to spend time in stillness that has given me the relief, a new understanding, and even solutions to get through. There in that silence, something in me shifts. Heaviness may shed in the form of tears. Or a word may come up suddenly and will give me relief. Something loosens. Something releases. And I find myself in a new light.

I have faith that there is a direct line that connects my heart to God’s heart. And in stillness, in silence, I always feel that I am being held close by a loving force. I have faith that each one of us has that direct line with God, and in a sense, God is within us. And in silence, in stillness, all the answers to the questions you will ever ask are all within you.

In my case, a new insight is revealed to me in the form of books that I suddenly have the urge to read, or a Bible verse that is so fitting to my current predicament. New inspirations will come to me in the form of persons, a movie, or a quote that is sent my way.

There is rich, vast wisdom that is available to each one of us. We are all being called to grow, to trust, and to feel freedom from our pain. But I believe that it all should start with your desire to be still and listen. Because in that stillness, you believe, then know, that there is a Universal love that is within you that is also everywhere.

So, if you are in a rough patch, if there is so much things you want to control, if it’s getting too heavy, know that it’s a time for surrender. In prayer, state your openness to be guided. Then be still. Be quiet. God’s voice is silence.

I believe that the moment you start to intentionally practice stillness to seek that connection to the Divine, that’s the start of knowing your inner guidance, one that is always available to you. It is the start of something magical in your life, a lifelong guidance. Life will not always be a walk in the park, but once you turn into that stillness-you will find relief.
