Notice What A Scarcity Mindset Makes You Feel

Have you ever compared the difference in energy of a person who complains so much and a person who loves to appreciate little things? Whose vibe is more pleasant?

If you dwell on how you don’t have this or don’t have that, Or whine about how someone is better, richer, prettier, luckier than you, does it actually make you feel better, or worse?

If you scroll through Instagram and feel bad about how your life is not perfect like those of the people in your feed (I know this feeling too well), notice if that feeling is actually a feeling you want to have.

Focusing on Lack, You Become an Energy of Lack

Here is the thing, if you spend so much time focusing on the what you do not have, and you pair that with a strong emotion of self-pity and bitterness- then you become that energy.

It is gonna be easier for you to see evidence of more scarcity, of more lack. In short, having a scarcity mindset will draw more scarcity towards you.

So let’s pivot from that kind of thinking to something that will make us feel more grateful, empowered and abundant. After all, focusing on lack does not make you feel good does it? But when you focus on seeing what blessings are around you, your mind automatically sees more of the same things, therefore attracting more abundance in your life. Plus it feels more pleasant, right?

Abundance is not something we acquire, it is something we tune into.

How to Feel Abundance in Little Ways

Notice the Nice Things that You Already Have and Internally (or Loudly) Gush About It. You may have forgotten how lucky you are that your bed is just perfectly soft and bouncy the way you want it. Maybe you have gotten used to it, but your husband or wife or parents are such a good cook that you are so lucky to have them in your life. What are the things that may seem ordinary now, but actually were just once dreams for you? The other day I was so thankful for my kitchen island, a thing I wished for years ago. A spacious kitchen was just once a dream, and now I forget every now and then to feel and savor it.

Do not forget the power of dressing up in a way that is empowering to you. It instantly lifts your mood, your vibe and your inner aura. It creates a feeling of confidence, abundance and readiness. Never mind who is gonna be impressed. This is not for display on socials or your peers. This dressing up is for YOU.

Music lover? Sometimes we forget how music can uplift our mood. Try playing music in the background while you go about with your chores. When you realize that you have this simple tool to make you feel better, it may get you out of your scarcity rut.

Turn making your coffee or tea into a ritual. Enjoy the calmness that can come with making yourself a hot drink, may it be in the morning, mid day or evening. It is one of the little pleasures in life that can make you feel abundant.

Make small upgrades. If there is an item in your house that you dislike or just overall gives you a feeling of stress, or lack and poverty each time you see it, within reasons, please throw it away. If it is a relatively small item that is not too expensive, replace it. For example, there is this shirt that is so stringy and faded that just irritates me and doesn’t make me feel empowered and confident. I threw it away and I never had to feel that feeling of lack again that comes when I encounter this said shirt. Is there a mug that that does not make you feel abundant? A frying pan, a pillowcase? Note that it doesn’t have to be major things. Even small upgrades around your life can boost your feeling of abundance.

Watch out for those Magic Moments. Are there any moments when you suddenly realize that you feel at peace? Some random moments when you pause and say to yourself, All is well right now and I feel extremely lucky to be here. I often feel this when I am alone with my son, and he says random funny things that I can’t help but laugh. I feel it some mornings, when the rest of my household is asleep and all there is around me are silence, my yoga mat and the warm sweater caressing my skin. This can look different for each one of us, but surely, if we pause even for a split second, you can potentially realize the many blessings around you.

Lessen Complaining. Complaining about the little things around you can make it seem like a its a good outlet to let out your frustration. However, it does not achieve anything. What it does is it amplifies that feeling of irritation, making it easier for you to notice the same things over and over again. It is a spiral downwards. Instead, try taking action if the thing is workable with a solution. But if not, take action internally. Notice the feeling or irritation or frustration, then allow it to run its course without dwelling on it too much by complaining to other people or in your head.

List the Things that Your Money Has Been Able to Buy or Pay for Lately. Remind yourself of what is there. Remind yourself of your worth, of your effort. You may not have much now, but focus on the things you are actually doing right. Get this to uplift you and inspire you, and to make you believe in yourself.

Abundance Affirmations. Take a few deep breaths to release tension in your body. Repeat for as many times as needed until you feel calmer, at ease and relaxed. If you are in an agitated state, this may take time. And if it feels impossible to relax, let it go and try another time.

In your relaxed state, affirm the following words with every inhale:

  • There is no lack in the Universe.
  • Everything I need is already within me.
  • Abundance flows easily to me.
  • I am open to receiving the flow of abundance in my life.
  • I release my fear and open myself to guidance . The Universe wants me to prosper.

Don’t Save Special Things for A Special Day. Is there a special item, maybe a clothing, or a dinnerware that you have not used at all because you are saving it for a special day? For a change, use them just because you want to. No need for a special day or an occasion to use something special. You are special. Feel worthy of special things. Remember we attract what we are. If you feel special, worthy and abundant, you will see more of that in your life.
